YUM!  Ulam!  (Anything that goes on rice) Cat, Rat, Bat or Dog?  Just a sample of what we get to sample.

We TOLD you it was HOT here! Makes your eyes bulge!!  :)

Stewing chickens roasted for lunch!

Again eating with hands is what they do here.

It frankly grosses me out but I put on a happy face.

Pathways To Homes We Travel Weekly

Maligaya 20,000 people live in this squatters area.
The bamboo railing helps us hop the rocks.  Plus and Elders hand or two.  This is a different area.

And we thought the rock pathway to our door was unsafe.

Imagine this in the rainy season......Major MUD!

Helping an 87 yr-old woman down to her home.  We have to stop and rest in the shaded areas.

Young Entrepreneurs At Work

Tracing letters on paper with cut out lettering.
Attaching it to a fabric and cutting out each letter.

The Lolo (grandfather) sewing a ribbing on an athletic pant.

The finished product....very painstaking and well done, it brings them money for food.
Finished product ready to sell.  Painstaking and all hand done....but it brings in money for Ulam!

The Baribe family from Ondoy has made the front of their house into an internet shop.  People like this young girl to the left and the boys below can come and for a few pesos search the internet, catch up on Facebook.  It's actually in their livingroom.  They have ten seats with computers.
It is the only connection to the internet in all of ONDOY (1,500 units)

This is the other side of the room.  The girl on the right is the youngest Baribe daughter.

The two Baribe sisters are taking the lesson from the missionaries.  We met right in the middle of the room where this computer lab business was going on.  Their parents are members of the church but haven't been active because of the distance from church and are so excited to have a "Group" started there.

Darling girls:  L-R  Baby Crechestina Baribe, , she is 12 and her sister Cherrycar Baribe who is 14. the youngest is the baby and the oldest is named after her mother Cherry and father Oscar, get it?.

                 CHILDREN

Making a chain with rubber bands.

SPOT, one of the healthiest pups we've seen.

A little skateboarder!

Sister investigator in Ondoy who is letting us use the house across from hers as a meeting place.  With her granddaughter.

I snapped a quick picture of the little girls legs with bites and sores on them.  Not uncommon to see at all.

Remember....It's More Fun in the Philippines!
