Spiritual Highs amid Routine Week.....

MISSION TOUR

Grabbing a snack before going home.

Greatest meeting ever with Elder Shane Bowen and his wife!  LOVED IT!

Shopping for Apartments...AGAIN!

Elder J. hooking up a new stove for
Elder Malmrose and Elder Tagiloa.

The VERY narrow street to their apartment!

The new water filters the Church is providing for the missionary apartments.  They work soooo much better than the old ones!

HOW'S MY DRIVING?
May Reklamo ka?
KEEP DISTANCE

I was bored on the way to the Temple to do Baptisms so I decided to show you the signs we see on the Jeepneys, Taxis and Trucks ALL over town!

Do NOT ask how your driving is...

We might just tell you.

There is NO SUCH THING as KEEP DISTANCE in the Philippines!

Almost on EVERY Jeepney!

This truck made and attempt to scratch Keep Distance on the back panel!

Love this one... at least they added a scripture to the back!

COOL MAN LUKE!

A POLICE PADDY WAGON

NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THIS LOAD....
but INTERESTING!

Exiting Missionaries

Leaving is always bittersweet....

Forever friends!

New Trainers going off to the Mission Home to learn how to teach the Newbies!
or
as they say it in this mission....
These Sister's just became NANAY'S

HOUSE BUILDING IN MALIGAYA

Elders Quorum President Mark Johnson Dingal
supervising the hauling of the cinder blocks.

These boys and young men have either a towel or a piece of cardboard on the back of their necks for protection.  This one can haul five at a time!

They have a very long distance to haul them to the site.  The man who came with Elder Jensen thought we should just  have some machine or something do it, but that wouldn't provide these boys with much needed work.
Some of the hard working crew!

Dexter Candari in the red and Brother Ernesto Heve on the right.

MIXING CEMENT THE GRUELING WAY!

 Abba cutting the rebar....

 Cementing the blocks

The hole for the CR is perfect!  It took one worker all day long to dig it.

 Great scaffolding....

 The back of the homes.

Check out this legit door and real windows!
Welded metal roof trusses on the right of this picture.  Almost unheard of in a squatter's area!

Chris Lana is the brother on the right who is the welding expert for the job.  He does the bunk beds for the missionaries too.  He lives in Binangonan and is a wonderful man.  His house was just upgraded a few months ago.

Hiking the way back up.  It is definitely a HIKE!

Sister Schlager and I taking a much needed rest on the way.
 Missionary Work with the Sisters

It was hard telling what we'd find in here....but we got there safe and sound.
 Beautiful View!

Another hike to an investigator's place.  How they ever find them is a mystery to me!

Great families to teach...the baby on the right is only two months old and has five inches of hair!

MORE PROJECTS, MORE SITES...

We helped Danny and JoAnna open a bank account to put a check he had received from America in.  It costs $ to open an account here.  Not just a deposit either!

It was a happy day for them!
On the road again....this time chickens going to market!
Sister Dingal doing laundry...She has her first baby due in March!

THIS POOR POOCH...SO MANY LOOK LIKE THIS.  IT'S SO SAD!

ANOTHER COUPLE OF FENDER BENDERS IN TRAFFIC!

I guess it goes with the territory....
