Meet the Mormons at Ondoy!

Zone Activity

Look at the varied athletic footwear on these missionaries.
Great for running on a cement basketball court, don't ya think?

Elder Pobuayon, currently a Brown Belt, is only one class away from being a Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu!  He may look small but I wouldn't want to mess with him.

SPECIAL MEETING WITH THE DURRANTS AND ECHOHAWKS
"MEET THE MORMONS"

 Good looking group....

Elder Brown taking my seat by Elder J. on the front row!

ONDOY WITH THE ELDERS
Elder Karawa and me heading down the lane.
Have you ever bought a bag of sugar this size before?

This is a  tindahan of a less-active member.  All of us met in a circle just behind and below the scale on the right side.

Too many flies to mention, and some scarey looking stuff...just sayin'
Darling little girls caught trying to bury this dead chick.
Filipino "Patriot's" playing with slightly "deflated" balls.
A group sitting in the road having some kind of choir practice.

Absolutely DARLING children here in the Philippines.....

Who said you can't have fun with a stick and a coconut?

This cute little girl was having fun with me until I started to play "peek-a-boo", then she ran home crying.  We soon went to visit her and her Mom, Dad and baby sister.  She finally warmed up again.

Meeting on a porch with a recent convert who is amazing!  She insists on going to buy RC Cola and pandasal when we come.  Today we stopped that and gave her homemade banana bread instead.

A group of women investigators who are waiting for the paperwork to get married and then baptized.

Super women!
More perfectly beautiful children, and a couple of cute "healthy" puppies.

This little guy was asleep on the door threshold and didn't move at all while we removed our shoes and walked over him to go in to teach.

Many if not most of the dogs we see here are extremely malnourished and sickly.

A front of the house garden, trying to grow some vegetables.
I wonder how this is gonna work out?

New Housing Project Area

MALIGAYA
A newly finished bridge to cross the river bed.

Four new houses are supposed to be built here.  But we heard today there are legal problems with the land.

Elder Jensen who preceded us here came back today with a crew.  He is about to learn about the legal hitches and hopefully we will have a PLAN B.

SMOG ADVERSE TRIKE DRIVER
Many people here wear masks or cover their faces with towels because of the pollution.

He is also wearing a shirt backwards to avoid the sun...we often see coats and jackets on drivers even when it's extremely HOT!
