Philippines Week #3 - Look how fast this is going!

Last Saturday's Baptisms:

Left is Elder Rock & Elder Abel

Right is Elder Kaitani and Elder Sabado

Here is the Book of Mormon the Sister below found in the garbage long before the Missionaries ever came to teach her and her family.  Her husband left her right after the little girl was born.
A PRESCHOOL about two blocks from where we live!  Gotta love those uniforms, aren't they darling?

School girls in uniform on a trike getting ready to go home.
High School students getting out of school and walking home.

We went shopping in downtown Antipolo for a light blanket.  They placed it in a newspaper bag for us.  They use and re-use everything.  We should be more like this.  I left MaryVic to clean our house and left her some cup of noodles to eat for lunch.  She had washed the containers and put them in the dish drainer.  I'm sure they could find lots of treasures in our trash.

These are the kind of toilets many have.  No toilet seat, no flushing. You just pour water in from a bucket to flush.  Usually no toilet paper in their CR's (Comfort Rooms)
Here's Rick buying a stove part for a Sister's apartment at local on-the-street
construction store. No doors- you just walk up and get what you need. They love getting their picture taken.

Rick and I riding a trike to inspect some Elder's apartment.  The roads are too narrow for our car.

I took a video on the ride home so you could get the real effect.  Not really that comfy, very bumpy with no shocks and lots of speed bumps to go over.  I'll try to ad the video here but if I can't I'll email it.

TRANSFER DAY!

Shoe polish is what I'm talking about!  I think this was after....so you can only imagine what they looked like before!

While inspecting some Elder's apartment I saw this... The bathroom was cruddy and check out the drain in the floor.  The Elder's and some Sister's don't have showers, just spigots where they take buckets and dump over them.  They always look great though.  Check out these Elder's shoes....that's what we call hitting the road and wearing yourself out in the service of our Savior.  LOVE IT!

CHINESE NEW YEAR PARADE IN ANTIPOLO....AT LEAST A FEW FLOATS.

THE average life expectany is about 50-55.  It seems like most are young people.
Those that are in their 50's and 60's look really old and frail.  Hard lives for these good people!

We also had some that was just made before cooling.  It was really good warm too!
Have a great week!  I'll be snapping away this coming week too.  So much to see....so little time!
