"Within the Walls"

Trip with the Senior Zone

We visited a school in Manila and brought them a couple of wheelchairs to use for any special needs children.  They performed several songs for us using these unusual instruments.  They were like bells with different tones.  They did a great job.

The kids were so excited to have us come.

This is a shot of the Seniors viewing the program.  It reminded me of WizKidz and made me a bit homesick.

Beautiful wood carvings on the doors of the St. Augustin Cathedral

A courtyard where the monks in training can go and meditate.

This domed ceiling is simply painted not carved.  It was amazing in detail! Such talent.
A wonderful pipe organ up in the rear of the cathedral where the choir seats were.

The choir was ordered by the Priest to stand during the entire service.  When the Chinese came they had these little ledges built on the underside of the seats.  The choir could rest on these ledges while still appearing to be standing from the main cathedral below this balcony.  Ingenious!

The all-seeing eye in the dome's art.  Isn't that on our money?

The oldest rock wall supposedly in existence.  You can read about in online...check out Intramuros.
A hide-a-way or something in the corners of the Walled City.

A Chapel for Monk's in Training

Above: Wood Carving that was preserved in the entrance and replaced. Below is the entrance into the Intramuros.

Fun forms of transportation throughout the area.
