Projects, Projects and More Projects!

PROJECT: Tatay Tony's Bahay (House)
Now new plywood siding!

BEFORE....
                        and....
AFTER!

Before, just scrap pieces of linoleum, and vinyl banners etc.
He has no electricity or water here so we had to use battery operated tools and hand saws.

We are hoping to get some more money together to paint the roof and the plywood and bamboo porch.

Hand Mixing Cement!

Tony is working right along everyone else!

Hauling and pouring cement by bucket loads.

Smoothing it out on the porch.

Tony's stove on the porch, before...

Tony's kitchen area on porch...
The fruit you see is from random
trees on the property.  Otherwise he doesn't have money for food.
Sister Missionaries cleaned it up and washed his few dishes with the water we brought.

Project Clothing Donation

New church dress for Marjorie!
And one for MariJane

Yanni and friend

Dresses and tops for several little girls....They were so excited to get them!

We also gave some drawstring bags, boys pants, shorts and shirts too.

Plus....lots of flip flops!  The only problem with those was that they were all large sizes.

Such a great project!

 NEW PROJECT for NEXT WEEK!

From the back of the bicycle to the left is full of recycling materials.  It looks like a horder....
When the floods of Ondoy came the water level was up to a foot over the families heads.
Bulging out and in need of repair!

She is the 76 yr-old Lola who is the recycler.
The Schlager's are funding this project, but we'll all help.

This part of the house is FULL of junk, trash, cardboard, plastic etc.

The Sisters, Jardines and us will sort through it and take it to be cashed in.

They are also building her a shed to collect the stuff in so she can have her house back.

Their kitchen outside....the stove made with three stones is under the canopy.

Another canopy for the dog.  His big red plastic eating tub is full of left-over rice and water.

Even with all the Chaos...there is beauty in their yard!
Garden with rock edging and these beautiful fragrant flowers.

And another Service Project
in the Works...
All the Senior Missionaries are going to purchase and put together 210 Back-to-School supply kits for all the Branches in the Zone we serve in.....Look for upcoming pictures on future blogs!

Zone Conference
President Revillo with his wife standing, Sister and President Jose of the Mission Presidency with two Stake Presidents, at Zone Conference.

The tie on the bottom left is Elder Barlow, Elder Sheffer, Jardines, Schlagers, Sister Barlow, Sister Sheffer and me....Elder J taking the picture.  We had a potato bar with salads and then an ice-cream sundae bar.  It was fun to eat American!

 ON THE ROAD...AGAIN!

These sorry PORKERS have no idea that tomorrow they will be ULAM on rice!

We often see huge trucks of pigs on their way to be slaughtered.
This trike is carrying this lady's harvest of string beans to be sold at public market.
